We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Director of Technology to lead our engineering department and drive the technical vision for our company. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our software and technical solutions, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our clients and the demands of the market.

What You'll Do:

Define the Technical Vision: Develop and implement the long-term technical strategy for the engineering department, aligned with overall company goals.
Lead Engineering Excellence: Own the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ensure adherence to best practices for code quality, system architecture, and technical documentation.
Drive Innovation: Identify and explore emerging technology trends, including AI, to create new and competitive advantages.
Build and Manage Teams: Lead and mentor a team of Technical Leads, Engineers, Quality Analysts, and Developers (both in-house and nearshore).
Client Solutions: Act as a strategic partner to clients, translating business needs into innovative technical strategies.
Budget Management: Set and manage the engineering budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost-efficiency.

What You Bring:

Longstanding, seasoned experience in an engineering leadership role within an e-commerce or retail environment.
Proven experience setting strategic vision and making commercial decisions at a senior level.
Deep understanding of modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies.
Expertise in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Experience managing third-party supplier relationships.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to software development (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)

Bonus Points:

In-house, client-side experience as Head of Engineering in an omnichannel e-commerce environment.
Experience in incorporating AI into product solutions and internal processes.
